Thursday, April 26, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Penn National Gaming Inc. moved another step closer to relocating one of its Ohio racetracks to Austintown with the purchase of the undeveloped Centerpointe Business Park.
Lee Burdman, a partner in Redstone Investments, Youngstown, and Penn National’s Ohio spokesman, Bob Tenenbaum, confirmed Wednesday afternoon that Penn National had purchased the approximately 180-acre site, exercising its option on the property last week.
Youngstown Kicks Off Initiative Program Revival
Wednesday, April 25, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The city of Youngstown re-introduced an economic development program this week that fostered the creation of 800 jobs between 2001 and 2008.
The Youngstown Initiative Program will award forgivable loans to businesses within the city for projects intended to establish or expand their operations.
“It’s small-business assistance we provide to local businesses that have their operations in the city,” said T. Sharon Woodberry, Youngstown director of economic development. “The city will be offering a number of incentives from its grants.”
