KeyCorp's Mooney: Most Powerful Woman in Banking
Tuesday, September 23, 2014CLEVELAND -- For the second consecutive year, American Banker Magazine has named Beth Mooney, CEO and chairman of KeyCorp, to head its list, "The 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking."
The magazine also recognized three other KeyCorp executives with its annual Women in Banking Awards.
Maria Coyne, executive vice president and branch network executive, was ranked No. 18. Amy Brady, chief information officer, was No. 6 on "The 25 Women to Watch" list. Margot Copeland, director of philanthropy and civic engagement, will receive American Banker's Community Impact Award.
Sales of Houses Slip as Investors Withdraw
Tuesday, September 23, 2014WASHINGTON -- After four consecutive months of gains, sales of existing houses slipped in August as investors paying in cash retreated from the market, the National Association of Realtors reported Monday. The increases in sales in the Northeast and Midwest were more than offset by declines in the South and West.
21 Offices in Maryland Open as First National Bank
Monday, September 22, 2014PITTSBURGH -- The 21 offices of OBA Bank in Maryland opened Monday morning as branches of First National Bank of Pennsylvania, Vincent J. Delie Jr., president and CEO of the bank and its holding company, F.N.B. Corp., said Monday.
The acquisition of OBA Financial Services Inc., the holding company of OBA Bank, was completed Friday, Delie said. It takes the number of First National Bank offices in Maryland to 31.
The Maryland regional headquarters of First National Bank are at 300 E. Lombard St., Baltimore.
More Americans Work Longer to Help Parents
Monday, September 22, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Nearly one in three Americans who isn’t retired is planning to work longer so they can afford to care for or provide care for their parents, PNC Financial Services Group said Friday.
PNC Financial, based in Pittsburgh, is the parent of PNC Bank.
The results of its annual survey of 1,021 adults with investable assets of $100,000 or more, PNC Perspectives on Retirement, show that three in 10 will defer retirement so they can afford to care for, or have care provided to, an older relative.
Valley House Sales Keep Pace with August 2013
Tuesday, September 16, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Sales of houses in August were on par with a year ago, the latest monthly report shows.
The data, reported to the Centralized Real Estate Information Services Multiple Listing Service by the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors and the Warren Area Board of Realtors, showed a combined 474 houses were sold in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties last month, slightly ahead of the 461 sold in August 2013 and the 468 sold in July.
