CORTLAND, Ohio -- The MiTi Flea Market is scheduled to open at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds on May 8-9 and continue for the summer months on the second weekend of each month, according to Tim Grimwood, co-managing proprietor of Miti Promotions."We are offering area residents an open-air shopping experience with the added attraction of food and refreshments along the midway and under the grandstand at the Fairgrounds," he says.A wide range of new and used merchandise including antiques, collectibles, and everyday household items will be featured along with a farmer's market for fresh vegetables and produce. Visitors can register for a special drawing to be held at the end of each day for 50 MiTi Bucks that the winner can then redeem for flea market merchandise at the following month's market.Market dates for the remainder of 2004 are June 12-13, Aug. 14-15, Sept. 11-12 and Oct. 9-10. The market will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. till 8 p.m. Grimwood and his partner, Mike Mosko, expect the new flea market to attract more than 300 vendors each month. "We will not be open in July because of the Trumbull County Fair, but we expect to extend the season into the fall, weather permitting," Mosko says. Vendor spaces will be 20 feet x 20 feet (outside area) with easy access for unloading. Limited Grandstand spaces (inside) are also available. Set-up will be on Fridays from 4-7 p.m., and the gates will be locked at 8 p.m. for security.
