CANFIELD, Ohio -- Reproductive Gynecology Inc. has opened an office on Tippecanoe Road here. Other established practices are in Akron, Canton and Columbus.
“One in eight couples nationally has difficulty conceiving for one reason or another, so it’s important for them to realize they’re not alone,” said Dr. Richard Moretuzzo of Reproductive Gynecology. “The Mahoning Valley has been an underserved market for fertility services for years. We’ve seen a number of Youngstown-area patients in our Akron office and we felt it was time to expand our practice here.”
The practice’s treatment capabilities include prompt work-ups for women and men, minimally invasive reproductive surgery, 3D ultrasound, pregnancy loss evaluation, genetics counseling, donor egg and sperm programs, insemination and cryopreservation, and in-vitro fertilization.
“There’s a misconception about fertility treatments that they are not covered by health insurance, but in fact many of the diagnostic-related services typically are,” Moretuzzo noted. “If a couple has been unsuccessful in conceiving for six months or more they should consider seeing a fertility specialist. Getting help is the first step. They might be pleasantly surprised by the advances in medical science and the number of treatment options available to them.”
The Canfield practice includes four physicians and a team of experienced nurses, laboratory technicians and office support staff.
