CHAMPION TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- The Trumbull Campus of Kent State University will offer an associate’s degree in veterinary technology beginning with the fall semester, Dean Robert Sines says.
With the program, KSU Trumbull will become the third institution in Ohio to offer an accredited veterinary technology curriculum.
Graduates can be licensed by the state of Ohio as a registered veterinary technician. They will be better prepared to work in routine veterinary laboratory work and clinical procedures, Sines says.
Students can enroll in the prerequisite courses in mathematics, science and liberal arts this summer so they can take the first two courses in the new curriculum, “Introduction to Veterinary Technology” and “Anatomy for Veterinary Technicians.” A minimum grade point average of 2.5 is required.
