Monday, December 01, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Frank Hierro, who retired Nov. 14 as president of the Mahoning Valley region of Huntington Bank, has joined the Home Savings and Loan Co. as its Mahoning Valley regional president, Gary M. Small, president and CEO of Home Savings, announced Monday afternoon.
Hierro could not be reached for comment.
“We are so pleased to welcome Frank to Home Savings,” Small said in a prepared statement. “He joins the bank at an important time as we begin to execute our strategies to grow, particularly in commercial and small-business lending. His leadership, business-development skills and knowledge of the market will greatly enhance our ability to serve the Mahoning Valley. We are very fortunate to have an executive with his capabilities and experience joining Home Savings. Frank’s hiring demonstrates our commitment to the Valley as we look forward to leveraging all of the great opportunities that are on the horizon in the communities we serve."
Hierro has been in banking more than three decades, the last 14 years as regional president of Huntington Bank where he oversaw its activity in six counties in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
He is active as a member of the boards of Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corp., the Youngstown Business Incubator and the Youngstown State University Foundation. Hierro is a former chairman of the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber and the annual campaign of the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.
Hierro graduated magna cum laude from Youngstown State University where he earned a baccalaureate in finance and economics.
