Tuesday, December 09, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Two Mahoning Valley companies -- Drake Manufacturing Services Co. LLC and Kravitz Delicatessen -- are among the companie named among the 100 fastest growing companies in northeastern Ohio.
The Weatherhead 100 winners, named by Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Business Management, were recognized at a ceremony last week in Mayfield Heights. Established in 1988, the Weatherhead 100 awards recognize the region’s fastest-growing companies based on revenue from the past five years.
The top-ranked company on the Weatherhead 100 list was Mongoose Metrics LLC, which reported growth of 6,458%. The entire list is posted here. Mongoose was followed by Laudan Properties, with growth of 5540.89%, and Echo Health Inc., with 2742.24% growth.
Based in Warren, Drake Manufacturing Services placed 36th on the Weatherhead 100 list, with revenue growth of 200.67%. The firm is a global designer and builder of production systems for manufacturers of parts with threads.
Kravitz Delicatessen, based in Liberty Township, reported increased revenues of 83.98% and placed 87th on the Weatherhead list. Jack Kravitz, president, attributes its success to expanding its business to emphasize food and catering to multi-ethnic organizations, traditional catering, event planning, adding full liquor service to the Belmont Avenue location and expanded use of social media.
Also recognized during the ceremony were the Weatherhead 100 Upstarts, fast-growing companies with 15 or fewer employees or net sales of less than $1 million last year, and the Weatherhead 100 Centurions, fast-growing companies with at least $100 million in net sales last year.
