NILES, Ohio – U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-17 Ohio, is this year's Mahoning Valley Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame recipient. He is the 23rd person to be selected in the hall's 26-year history.
Ryan, along with the 2012 scholarship recipients, will be honored at a banquet May 20 at McMenamy's Restaurant and Banquet Center, said Steve Telego Sr., hall of fame president.
The nonprofit scholarship organization has awarded more than $150,000 in scholarship awards to college-bound students over the past 26 years.
