YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The YWCA of Youngstown received a $10,000 donation Tuesday from the Home Savings Charitable Foundation to sponsor the Women Artists: A Celebration! show.
The art show, which is marking its 33rd anniversary, highlights and supports women artists and their contribution to the arts locally, says Leah Brooks, executive director of the Youngstown YWCA.
“The show provides a platform for local, regional, and national women artists to express their creativity and gain recognition for their talents,” she continues. Proceeds from the event benefit the YWCA Barbara Wick Transitional Housing program for women.
“We’re proud to be able to support the YWCA of Youngstown in its mission to provide safe places for women and girls, build strong female leaders, and advocate for women's rights and civil rights in Congress,” says Colleen Scott, director of the Home Savings Charitable Foundation.
