Ohio Business Filings Up in October, Year-to-Date
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A total of 8,300 new entities filed to do business in Ohio in October compared to 8,052 ib October 2013, reports the office of Secretary of State Jon Husted.
From Jan. 1 through Oct. 31 the ofice the accepted with 79,968 new-business filings, an increase from 76,614 for the same time period last year.
During 2012 and 2013, the state saw a record-setting number of new businesses file with 88,068 and 89,735 new companies filing to do business, respectively. Growth in online business filings has been steady and available online services continue to expand as well.
Since the office of secetary of state began accepting filings in October 2013, nearly 30,000 have been submitted and half of all new companies file online in Ohio, Husted said.
New-business filings are classified as forms submitted to the Ohio secretary of state that declare the formation of a business entity, whether for-profit, nonprofit and professional corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, limited partnerships and limited liability partnerships.
