Legal Arts Building Sold for $175,000
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Legal Arts Properties LLC, one of whose members is Dominic Marchionda, has acquired the long-vacant Legal Arts Building, 101 Market St., across from the county courthouse, for $175,000.
The title transferred Tuesday in the recorder’s office of the Mahoning County Courthouse.
Marchionda, also president of DJD&C Development Inc., and U.S. Campus Suites LLC, has built the Flats at Wick, dormitories with beds for 113 students at Youngstown State University, and owns the Erie Terminal Building downtown that he is converting to housing.
Efforts were unsuccessful to reach Marchionda for comment on what Legal Arts Properties has in mind and when its plans might come to fruition.
Legal Arts Properties bought the site, which measures 150 by 75 feet, from Commonwealth Real Estate Investors, a firm in eastern Pennsylvania, Feb. 21, although the deed wasn’t recorded until yesterday.
After a fire in late 2004 forced tenants to seek other offices, the four-story building was allowed to sit. No effort was made to repair it.
