FRANKLIN, Tenn.-- Community Health Systems Inc., which owns ValleyCare Health System in Youngstown, Ohio, announced Thursday it has acquired substantially all of the assets of MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, Ill.
Located approximately 20 miles south of Chicago, the 330-bed hospital becomes the ninth CHS-affiliated hospital in Illinois and the third one serving communities in the greater Chicago region.
“We are pleased to expand our operations into another Illinois community and look forward to applying our operational strategies and clinical initiatives to advance the quality care provided by MetroSouth Medical Center’s dedicated medical staff and employees,” said Wayne T.
