BBB Warns of Right 2 Vote Scam
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- This election year has many hot topics for the candidates to discuss, and people are always being polled to find out their opinion. People answer polls because they want their voice to be heard. One of these "hot topics" concerns the U.S. Supreme Court and the Pledge of Allegiance. The Better Business Bureau of the Mahoning Valley is warning area businesses and consumers of a company in Canada that is sending unsolicited fax survey/opinion polls containing 900 numbers. Right 2 Vote is sending faxes requesting individual's opinion regarding the Supreme Court and its ruling on the constitutionality of the Pledge of Allegiance. The fax states that the information will be collected and reported to "decision makers" in an effort to, "Tell the Supreme Court your view!"In fact, BBB officials say, individuals in the United States who respond to the Fax Survey/Opinion Poll will be doing nothing more than producing revenue for Right 2 Vote Ltd., British Columbia, Canada, by dialing the 900 telephone number at the minimum cost of $2.95 per minute.More information about the scam and how to protect against it is available by calling the BBB at (330) 744-3111."
