WYSU-FM Spring Pledge Drive Starts April 24
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Listener-supported WYSU 88.5 FM, Youngstown State University’s public radio service, will hold its annual spring pledge drive from April 24 through 27. This spring’s drive has an overall fundraising goal of $115,000, the most ever for a WYSU Spring membership drive, officials say.
For the third drive in a row, the on-air portion of the WYSU membership drive will be just 72 hours long.
Everyone who pledges support to WYSU (either as a new member, a renewing member, or with an additional gift) between now and the end of the pledge drive will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of tickets on a Go Ahead Tours 11 day Tour of Vienna, Budapest and Prague. Throughout the drive, the station also will be offering Daily Prize Packages, a New Member Prize Package, and a Pennsylvania Member Prize Package. All of the prize packages will include a new HD Radio. No donation is necessary to be entered into prize drawings.
As a result of support from idmi.net, all web pledges made to WYSU-FM this spring will qualify for a partial match.
“One could say that all our funding is driven by our membership support, since this is the key factor that helps determine all other sources of revenue such as the funds we receive from Youngstown State University, our business underwriting partners and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting,” said Gary Sexton, WYSU director. “So the value of every member pledge, whatever the amount, is greatly multiplied by the way it positively impacts all our other streams of support.”
Contributions to the station’s Spring Pledge Drive can be made between now and April 27 by phone at (330) 941-1481, or through a secure on-line server at the website.
