Sheely’s Furniture Celebrates 60 Years
NORTH LIMA, Ohio -- Sheely’s Furniture and Appliance is celebrating 60 years of doing business in the region. What began as a modest electrical shop that also sold hot water heaters in the early 1950’s, has grown to become the largest single furniture and appliance store between New York and Chicago.
Sheely’s started with Dale and Alyce Sheely of Sheely’s Electric. As Dale wired houses during the day, his wife minded the store. Soon, appliances and then furniture were added to the mix. The couple responded to customers’ needs, expanding products and adding employees. “We truly care about what our customers want," said Sherry Sheely, of Sheely’s. "It’s something that Dale and Alyce founded the business on and it happens the moment customers step in the store.”
To mark this milestone in the company’s and family’s history, Sheely’s is hosting a special four-day event at its store. On April 12, 13, 14 and 16, customers can stop by for a number of giveaways including chances to win appliances, furniture and gift cards, plus families can stop by for a special kids event.
With its 75,000 square-foot showroom, Sheely’s is able to offer the region the largest selection of furniture styles, bedding and appliances all under one roof. As the business continues to expand, Sheely’s draws customers not only from the Mahoning Valley but from Pittsburgh, Akron and beyond.
