Chamber Canfield Breakfast Rescheduled for May 4
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Youngsstown/Warren Regional Chamber's "Good Morning, Canfield" breakfast has been rescheduled for May 4. The original date was April 13.
The breakfast will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. May 4 at McMahon Hall, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road.
Canfield Schools Superintendent Dante Zambrini will join Canfield Mayor Kay for an update, ESPN-style. They will discuss what’s going on in the city, township and schools, but with a twist -- they’ll be on the clock as they answer questions such as, Is something being built at the corner of state Route 46 and Herbert Road? Will my road get paved this year? Will we ever get a new library? Is there a new business on the Green? What is that huge development by Inner Circle? Are we searching for a new schools superintendent?
Two individuals will receive awards for their commitment and dedication to the Canfield community. Fred Scarsella of Scarsella Furniture will receive the Canfield Area Council Business Pride Award, given to a business located within the city or township that exemplifies ethical, moral and professional standards in the workplace and has visibly contributed to local economic development. Scarsella Furniture is celebrating 75 years in business and may be one of few furniture stores across the country to boast of carrying only American-made pieces.
The second Spirit of Canfield Award will be given to an individual who has tirelessly worked to promote and better Canfield township and city through involvement in the community and schools, as well as promotion of his or her business. This award remains a surprise, as the honoree will not even know he or she is being honored until the moment the award is presented.
Farmers National Bank is the sponsor of this year’s event. The cost is $20 for chamber members and $30 for non-members. Reservations are required. To register or obtain more information, call Jennifer Mascardine at (330) 744-2131 ext. 12.
