Portman Visit Highlights Work at TMK IPSCO
Monday, February 27, 2012BROOKFIELD, Ohio – The semi-flush joint connection that Nick Drakulic showed to a reporter at TMK IPSCO’s Brookfield plant is the most complicated connection the plant makes – and the most expensive, he said.
“The flanks on the threads are actually slanted, which allows them to seal as they’re screwed together,” Drakulic, general supervisor at the plant, explained. The 28-element connection, which requires no coupling, is preferred in deep wells.
Portman Writes Williams in Support of Delphi Retirees

Rob Portman (R-Ohio) is pushing the Obama Administration further to look into the treatment of retired Delphi salaried workers during the General Motors bankruptcy. In a letter to Jay Williams, former Youngstown mayor and now Executive Director of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Recovery for Auto Communities and Workers, Portman said he hopes the Administration will remedy the treatment of workers who lost a significant portion of their pension benefits, while other retirees from the same company received far better treatment.

Williams Hears Delphi Retirees' Concerns
Saturday, February 11, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Jay Williams promised to take the concerns that representatives of the Delphi Salaried Retiree Association expressed back to Washington following a two-hour meeting today.
Williams, executive director of the Office of Recovery for Auto Communities and Workers and former mayor, met with Delphi retirees' representatives Bruce Gump and Mary Ann Hudzik in the George V. Voinovich Government Center downtown.
