Obama, Dems Again Target Romney on Auto Rescue
Friday, April 27, 2012LORDSTOWN, Ohio – Clad in the United Auto Workers jacket her late husband, Grady, wore, Elaine Price recalled the pride he had in being an employee at General Motors Co.'s Lordstown plant, where he worked in the shipping and receiving department.
"He was a very proud autoworker and he believed strongly in American-made products, and especially what General Motors was producing out here," she recalled today, just a day before the one-year anniversary of his death.

It is part of an effort to shore up support for the president by touting his decision to rescue the domestic auto industry.
Former Gov. Ted Strickland, a co-chairman of the Obama for America campaign, joined United Autoworkers President Bob King and Lordstown autoworker Dawn Burkey in a conference call with reporters Monday to announce the tour.
Pa. Lt. Gov. Urges Bureaucrats Work with Entrepreneurs

Brown Promotes Aid to Neighborhoods Like Idora
Wednesday, April 11, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – At a vacant, condemned building on Glenwood Avenue just a few doors from the Youngstown Playhouse, its executive director, Mary Ruth Lynn, talked about the neighborhood as it was a half-century ago.
Lynn, who grew up in Boardman, recalled that her grandfather lived on nearby West Evergreen Avenue, and how she used to go to Idora Park, the South Side amusement park that closed nearly 30 years ago. Today she is a member of the Idora Neighborhood Association, the civic group that has taken a leading role in combating blight in the area.
