JobsOhio Ranks 7th Among 50 Development Agencies
Wednesday, December 10, 2014CHICAGO -- The American Economic Development Institute ranks JobsOhio, a private agency that oversees development initiatives for the state, as one of the top-10 economic development organizations for 2014, placing it seventh in its rankings.
The institute is a privately funded public policy and research organization that describes itself as nonpartisan. In announcing its rankings, the first for the organization, AEDI lauded JobsOhio's “distinctive approach to economic development, which it said sets the organization apart from those in other states.”
Regional Chamber Reports Jobs, Investment Numbers
Friday, December 05, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber reports it’s worked on economic development projects through the third quarter 2014 that resulted in the creation of 479 jobs and the retention of 450 jobs.
The total investment of these completed projects, according to the chamber, is $121.1 million with the new annual payroll to be generated estimated at nearly $24.7 million.
The year-to-date numbers are reported in the chamber’s economic development newsletter dated November 2014.
VXI to Hire 175 by Jan. 1 for New Positions

That was two years ago.
“It turned out that it actually was lucrative for me,” she said. Starting out as an agent, taking sales support and customer care calls for the downtown call center, today she is a team lead in sales support.
