WARREN, Ohio -- ValleyCare Health System of Ohio today announced that John Walsh has been named CEO of Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
In addition, Jay de los Reyes began his new position April 1 as chief operating officer of TMH, the company said.
“These two individuals bring strong leadership to Trumbull Memorial Hospital,” said Kirk Ray, CEO of ValleyCare, in a prepared statement. “John and Jay come with new energy and perspective that I believe will help solidify a positive culture for the hospital both internally and in the community.”
Walsh was named interim CEO in March. He previously served as COO at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind., and CEO for Regency Hospital Co.’s Long Term Care Hospital in Toledo. He obtained his MBA in from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga., andhis bachelor’s in respiratory therapy in from Georgia State University in Atlanta. He is a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served on numerous boards.
de los Reyes has worked the last two years as the COO at HealthSouth Sunrise Rehabilitation Hospital in Florida. Before joining HealthSouth, he lived in Charlotte, N.C., where he managed the cardiothoracic and vascular surgery practices at a practice of more than 110 physicians owned by the Carolinas Healthcare System. de los Reyes earned a master's degree in health administration and business administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has a bachelor's of business administration from Birmingham-Southern College.
