HERMITAGE, Pa. -- On Sept. 13, the Green Building Alliance will join the city of Hermitage and HHSDR Architects/Engineers to celebrate the first LEED-certified office building in Mercer County. The eCenter at LindenPointe buiding has achieved a LEED Silver rating and is the the first LEED-rated office building in the county.
LEED is the acronym for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
The eCenter was designed by HHSDR Architects/Engineers with contibution from the Green Building Alliance of Pittsburgh to achieve the certification for energy use, lighting, water and material use as well as incorporating other sustainable strategies, says Leslie Montgomery, spokeswoman for the Green Building Alliance.
Certification of the eCenter was based on green design and construction features that benefit the project itself and the broader community. Among them:
The public is invited to join the celebration set for 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 13 at the eCenter on Innovation Way. The cost is $10 per person, $5 for members of Green Building Alliance.
