YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The accounting and business consulting firm of Hill, Barth & King has acquired Carson & Co. CPAs of Sewickley, Pa.
The acquisition is effective immediately, the company announced Thursday. Its terms were not released.
Carson & Co.'s John Mavero has joined Hill, Barth & King as a principal in the firm. The staff from Carson & Co. will maintain its office in Sewickley while integrating with HBK's Wexford, Pa., office, according to the announcement.
Chris Allegretti, HBK managing principal and CEO, said the staff of Carson & Co. brings "years of experience in the construction industry as well as team members with extensive audit and tax knowledge."
Carson & Co. clients will be able to take advantage of the expertise offered by HBK's Wealth Advisors, an independent investment firm that provides financial and estate planning among other services, Allegretti added.
"Hill, Barth & King and Carson & Co. have similar philosophies of a culture based on strong values, world-class services and developing and maintaining team members dedicated to the success of their clients," said Jeff Yannuzzi, principal-in-charge of HBK's Pittsburgh office.
"We are excited about combining our resources with HBK," added Mavero. "We sought to integrate with a firm that could offer the resources to meet our growing clients' needs."
With the addition of Carson & Co., HBK and its and HBKS Wealth Advisors employ more than 300 professional and support staff at its offices in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida.
The trade journal Inside Public Accounting ranks HBK the 82nd largest accounting firm in the United States.
