GREEN, Ohio -- The Akron-Canton Airport's website is again fully functional and secure after being attacked Saturday morning by a TurkishAjan group. Airport officials say no passwords for email addresses or credit card information was on the website, but the information that was obtained came from entries to contests. This included contest entrants' names, emails, cities and phone numbers.
"If you have signed up for an airport contest in the past two years, you should change your email password as a precaution," the airport stated in a news advisory.
No personal information on flight iternaries was accessed or compromised, officials say.
"We temporarily suspended access to our website while we worked to address the attack and secure information," the airport said. "We are working with our web consultants to ascertain how the attack occurred and intend to reassess all of our web security protocols and implement any needed improvements at the appropriate time."
