YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The new website for the Home Savings and Loan Co. was honored recently with two 2012 Communicator Awards from the International Academy of the Visual Arts. The website was developed with assistance from CBOSS Inc., Boardman, and Nowspeed Inc., Westborough, Mass.
Home Savings and CBOSS earned Silver Awards in two website categories: Banking/bill paying and financial services. Nowspeed, an online marketing agency specializing in web solutions, consulted with Home Savings in the preliminary development of the site’s redesign and provided guidance with the site’s search engine optimization.
Initially, the goal was increasing visibility of certain pages on the existing website. “As we got deeper into the SEO, we realized a full site redesign was the best thing to do," explained Colleen Scott, vice president of marketing for Home Savings. "Now, a significant amount of our website traffic is driven by Google, Yahoo and the other major search engines. CBOSS submitted our site’s award entries on our behalf, and we’re happy to share the recognition.”
CBOSS, as the website’s host and service provider, was instrumental in the programming and development of the site, following guidance from Home Savings. “Good website design and user-friendliness helps create brand trust,” said James DeRosa, CBOSS production manager for the Home Savings project. “This trust can convert site visitors into buyers of a company’s products and services.”
There were 6,000 entries for the 2012 Communicator Awards, one of the largest programs that honor excellence in marketing and communications.
