Restaurants Invited to Join Red Cross Month
WARREN, Ohio -- March is Red Cross Month, and the Red Cross of the Mahoning Valley is asking Valley restaurants to participate in its Dine and Donate program. All proceeds will be used to support the mission of the American Red Cross of the Mahoning Valley.
Restaurants can help out in several ways: Identify a drink or menu item (perhaps a Bloody Mary, glass of merlot, red velvet cake, or red snapper), and for every item sold be willing to make a donation, or have a Red Cross-provided board member serve as a "celebrity bartender," with all tips generated to be donated, the agency says.
"We provide a board member to serve as a celebrity bartender and all tips generated will be donated. Restaurants also are invited to submit their own ideas on working with the Red Cross," says Karen E. Conklin, executive director of the local Red Cross.
The Mahoning Valley Red Cross helps local disaster victims who have suffered a devastating loss, military families coping with the challenges of military service and health and safety training. Restaurant participation will be promoted via press releases to press in the region, on the Red Cross website and in other ways, such as email blasts and social media.
Restaurants owners interested in joining the list of local participants should call Conklin at 330 392 2551, ext. 114.
