Main Public Library Offers Database Training Today
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Four free database training programs are scheduled today, Wednesday and Thursday at the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. Dinah Ramirez of Gale Product Training Services will offer training sessions on DemographicsNow and Business Insights Global.
Demogaphics Now, which provides access to demographic data for all states, can generate maps and reports that include information on consumer expenditures, population, income, race, housing, employment and mosaic cluster groups by geographic breakdowns, officials said. The Business & People module provides a comprehensive business and residential reference and research tool for information on more than 23 million businesses, 206 million people and 35 million households.
Business Insights Global provides a fully integrated resource that combines an international perspective and research tools to access case studies, statistical data sources, news articles, academic journals and topical reference materials organized by country, company and industry.
Both databases will be covered in each of the four sessions that are open to the public at no charge. The classes will meet on the second-floor computer center.
