JA Invites Students to Compete in Titan Challenge
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- High school juniors and seniors across the Mahoning Valley are invited to participate in Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley’s fourth annual Titan Challenge March 14 at Youngstown State University.
The JA Business Challenge is a competition for teams of two to three students to use their creativity and leadership ability to solve a business problem on the JA Titan program. There is no entry fee, says Michele Merkel, president of Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley.
The competition will be held in the Williamson College of Business Administration.
Each team of students will be assigned a mentor in the competition for scholarships and prizes as they increase their understanding of what’s involved in running a business in a competitive, high-tech marketplace. Those interested can check out the game at http://titan.ja.org.
Each member of the first-place team will receive a $500 scholarship, with additional prizes for the second- and third-place teams.
Those participating must provide their own transportation to and from YSU and be accompanied by a chaperone, who can be a parent or teacher. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Each school can enter up to two teams with the option of a third team on a first-come basis after the registration deadline.
For more information on the JA Titan Business Challenge, contact Melissa D’Apolito at 330 539 5268, by email [email protected] or visiting the JA website.
