Eastern Gateway to Host Oil and Gas Safety Course
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- Eastern Gateway Community College is offering a course for employees and managers engaged in all phases of on-shore oil and gas exploration and production. The course is offered by the Great Lakes OSHA Education Center in collaboration with the college and RiskControl360°.
This is the first time the course will be offered in Ohio.
The course, OSHA 5810: Hazards Recognition and Standards for On-Shore Oil and Gas Exploration and Production, was developed as a result of extensive cooperation from oil and gas producers, service companies and industry associations. Industries that can benefit from the course include, but are not limited to, construction, drilling, completion, well servicing, production, product gathering and processing, and product transmission.
OSHA 5810 is designed to provide essential information for those who attend to protect themselves and front line workers by developing knowledge and skills to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control hazards common to the U.S. on-shore oil and gas exploration and production industry. The course includes 18 hazard recognition modules.
The course is available in two seminars this spring, and registration is now open. Students may select one of two sessions: April 1 through 5 with registration due by March 25 or April 29 through May 3 with a registration deadline of April 22.
Classes will be held at Eastern Gateway's main campus here from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Tuition per registrant is $795. To register, call Shari Bonnell-May of RiskControl360° at 614 827 0363.
