Ohio New Business Filings Down Slightly in June
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The number of new entities that filed to do business in June fell slightly compared to June 2012, reports the office of Secretary of State Jon Husted.
Last month, 7,185 entities completed new business filings; in June 2012, 7,339 documents were filed.
New business filings declare the formation of a business entity, including for-profit, nonprofit and professional corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, limited partnerships and limited liability partnerships. Filing as a business in Ohio does not guarantee the company will begin operations, be profitable or create jobs, Husted’s office notes.
For the first six months of 2013, the secretary of state’s office assisted with 47,918 new business filings, and increase from the 46,591 documents filed in the first six months of 2012.
