NAMII’s New-Member List Includes Venture Plastics
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Venture Plastics Inc., a custom thermoplastic injection molder with processing facilities in Newton Falls and Texas, is one of four new supporting members of the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute.
NAMII, managed by the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining in Latrobe, Pa., announced the new members Thursday.
“The addition of new, diverse members within our ranks is of great significance. NAMII’s success in accelerating the adoption of additive manufacturing technologies to the manufacturing sector is directly dependent upon the collaborative research and development efforts among our members,” said Ed Morris, NAMII director.
The new members include Minneapolis-based Stratasys Ltd., “a world leader in 3-D printing,” according to the announcement. Stratasys is designated as a new “lead” member of NAMII, which gives the company a seat on the institute’s governance board.
In addition to Venture Plastics, new supporting members include: ASM International, Materials Park, Ohio; North Carolina State University, Raleigh, N.C., South Dakota school of Mines and Technology, Rapid City, S.D.
NAMII is a public-private partnership with member organizations from industry, academia, government, and workforce development agencies. Its mission is collaboration “with a singular, shared vision to transition additive manufacturing technology to the mainstream U.S. manufacturing sector.”
