Borza to Coordinate Economic Competitiveness Project
WARREN, Ohio – Jessica Borza, executive director of the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition, has been named collaboration coordinator of the Mahoning Valley Economic Competitiveness Project.
Jeffrey M. Glebocki, president of the Raymond John Wean Foundation, made the announcement today.
Borza will hold both positions as well as coordinate Industry Partners of Lawrence and Mercer Counties in Pennsylvania.
She will help the newly formed group develop a plan to address its top priority, “That all Valley residents have access to high-value employment opportunities an that all employers have access to a diverse pool of well-qualified workers,” Glebocki said. The group will determine how its members can work more cohesively so the needs of employers are better aligned with the skills the workforce has to offer.
The working group consists of nearly 80 employers and career centers in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties, Glebocki said. Over the last year they have worked together to identify employers’ needs, skills the workforce possesses so all can benefit from the region’s resurgent economy.
