Marcellus Shale Coalition Searches for New CEO
PITTSBURGH --A nationwide search is on for a new CEO at the Marcellus Shale Coalition with the upcoming departure of Kathryn Klaber. Selected to lead the new organization at its inception in late 2009, Klaber will play a key role in the transition and continue to represent MSC over the next several months, the coalition said.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to work alongside so many incredibly talented professionals from across the industry, as well as a truly dedicated staff, to realize energy production milestones and new opportunities for prosperity in our state, region and the nation,” Klaber said in a statement.
“Pennsylvania is now producing nearly 10% of the nation’s natural gas," she continued. "Our industry’s work has been described as ‘revolutionary’ and ‘game-changing.’ The work of the MSC, collaborating with public officials, has helped create the climate for growth of an industry that has delivered on its promises to create American jobs, increase our energy security, while holding safety and environmental performance as paramount.”
Dave Spigelmye, chairman of the coalition, credited Klaber’s “results-oriented leadership” with bringing “incredible value” to the industry and helping it face and overcome myriad challenges. Klaber will remain the coalition’s leader throughout the search, “though we will certainly continue to seek her counsel beyond that time,” he added.
Klaber will represent the coalition at key forums in Australia and London in the coming months and host its Shale Insight confrence in Philadelphia in September.
