ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Artist and designer Dragan Vukadinovic, senior creative designer at Hyundai/Kia American Design Center in California, will present the Kershaw Lecture March 23 at Mount Union College. Over the past 19 years, Vukadinovic has created car designs that have gained international success. One of his most recognized designs is the 1995-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The top seller in its segment and popular for its exterior styling, the car was made the "star" of the original The Fast and the Furious movie. The central message of his presentation, scheduled for 7 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall, is how fine art is the root of his creativity. Vukadinovic's designs continued to shape the Mitsubishi Motors vehicle lineup for close to a decade. The Eclipse was followed by designs for the 1997 Eclipse facelift, the 1997-2000 RVR SUV and the current Mitsubishi Endeavor SUV. His innovative show cars included the Mitsubishi ESR Hybrid Electric Vehicle, the Hyundai HCD-5 Crosstour, the Hyundai HCD-6 Roadster of 2001 and the KIA KCD-1 Slice. His artwork has been published in international magazines including Automobile Magazine, Car Styling and Auto & Design amoung others. Most recently, his futuristic design for the "Ultimate L.A. Street Machine" was featured as the central publicity piece for the 2005 Greater Los Angeles Auto Show. The Myrtie Allen Kershaw Lectureship on Poetry and the Fine Arts was established in 1960 by a bequest from Myrtie Allen Kershaw of Kent, Ohio, who indicated in her will that such a fund should go to a college chosen by her friend and executrix of her estate, Elizabeth Clark Bell. Because of Bell's personal interest in Mount Union College, where she was a student in 1932 to 1933 and where her uncle, Robert E.
