Turning Technologies Finalizes eInstruction Purchase
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Turning Technologies announced Tuesday that it has completed its acquisition of eInstruction, a competitor in the audience response industry.
Turning, based in the Youngstown Business Incubator’s Taft Technology center downtown, reported Aug. 7 that it had reached an agreement to acquire eInstruction, which is based in Scotsdale, Ariz. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The purchase nearly doubles Turning’s size and gives the company control of about half of its market share in the audience response technology market, said Turning’s CEO, Mike Broderick. It also is expected to create local jobs with the relocation of the company’s distribution center to the Mahoning Valley.
“eInstruction is a recognized leader in providing great solutions into the educational marketplace. Over the last 30 years, they have built a strong portfolio of products and an excellent reputation for innovation with the global K-12 marketplace,” Broderick said.
“We believe that with the addition of eInstruction to our existing business, we will create a strong, stable platform to launch new, cutting-edge products and allow our enhanced businesses to continue to innovate and providing leading audience response solutions across all markets," Broderick said.
Turning will increase its brand strength with the integration of eInstruction’s proprietary products, he noted, including its Insight 360 classroom instruction system, ExamView assessment software and Mobi interactive whiteboards.
