VIENNA, Ohio – Allegiant Air will announce this morning that the passenger carrier will add nonstop jet service from the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport to the Punta Gorda Airport in southwest Florida beginning Oct. 30. A news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m at the airport here.
Allegiant distributed a news release early Tuesday that reported service also will be launched from seven other airports in the United States. One-way rates begin as low as $69.99; from Youngstown-Warren, the lowest rate will be $89.99 one way.
Allegiant says seats are limited and tickets must be purchased by Aug. 6 for travel by Feb. 22.
Said the president of Allegiant Travel Co., Andrew Levy, in a statement, "Expanding our base at Punta Gorda Airport will allow us to give more of our markets access to the Southwest Florida coast and offer travelers more affordable vacation options. We are happy to partner with an airport that operates in a low-cost, efficient manner, which allows us to pass the savings on to our customer."
