Alberini's Restaurant to Serve Last Meal Saturday
NILES, Ohio – Alberini’s restaurant will serve its last meal Saturday, the owner and operator, Chook Alberini, confirmed today. Alberini declined additional comment, explaining a press release will be issued Monday or Tuesday. He did, however, state when questioned that D’Vino’s, a new restaurant launched earlier this year in the lower floor of the Alberini’s, will remain open.
Alberini's, a landmark on the Route 422 strip in Trumbull County for more than 50 years, was known for its gourmet food and extensive wine selection. The restaurant was listed among the Distinguished Restaurants of North America. It’s advertising slogan – “A room for every mood, a menu for every occasion, a wine for every palate” -- reflected the white-cloth restaurant's diverse facilities, menu and wine list.
Chook Alberini took over the restaurant management after the death of his father, Richard, about five years ago.
The family business was one of the first restaurants to locate on the 422 Strip and for decades -- long before the onslaught of chain restaurant options -- it was a popular destination spot for diners in the tri-state region.
