BOARDMAN,Ohio -- CBOSS has been awarded a new contract from the Ohio Department of Public Safety Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

The company will design, develop and host the next generation of Oplates, the bureau's online vehicle registration and renewal system.

Oplates is a Web-based vehicle registration system that CBOSS developed and hosts at its network operations center here. Since CBOSS delivered the system to go live in 2000, it has been used by millions of private citizens and businesses to renew vehicle and fleet registrations and order specialty plates. Oplates processed close to one million transactions in 2008.

CBOSS will design a new architecture for both the Oplates web and interactive voice response applications using the latest and most secure software tools and services, says Doug Carr, general manager. The system will use the CBOSS Central Payment Portal to process all payment transactions for renewals and new plate orders.

CBOSS, founded in 1994, specializes in the design and implementation of business process automation and e-payment products and services using industry-standard software platforms and tools. CBOSS is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner.
