Huntington Bank to Offer Apple Pay in January
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Huntington Bank will offer its customers Apple Pay in January, the bank announced Thursday.
Apple Pay allows consumers to use their smartphones to pay bills for goods and services at more than 220,000 stores and restaurants across the United States.
Huntington describes Apple Pay as “a service transforming mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay.”
Apple Pay will allow Huntington customers to store and use their Huntington Voice credit cards, Huntington debit cards, or both “in a digital, tokenized form with the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus,” said Mark Sheehan, executive vice president and payment channels director for the bank. “Apple Pay allows users to make in-store and in-app purchases with a single touch of the finger using Touch ID.”
Making the transaction with Apple Pay is "confidential,” Sheehan said, because the cashier, clerk or waiter never sees the user’s name, card number or security code.
