Penn State Book Sale to Benefit United Way
SHARON, Pa. -- The Penn State Shenango campus will hold a community book sale and basket raffle from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. next Monday in the McDowell Hall Community Room on Shenango Avenue. Proceeds benefit the Mercer County United Way.
Hundreds of gently used books, as well as some compact discs, DVDs, games, and puzzles, will be available at prices that range from 50 cents to $2.
Tickets for the basket raffle are $1 each, six for $5, 20 for $10, and 50 for $20. Baskets will be available to view and raffle tickets available for purchase Feb. 18 as well as from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and Friday in the Great Hall of Sharon Hall. The basket raffle tickets will be drawn Feb. 22.
Raffle baskets/gifts donated by Penn State Shenango staff, faculty and student clubs include:
- Spa basket (business, finance and security offices).
- Kitchen basket (occupational therapy department).
- Mexican theme basket (bookstore).
- Lottery tree (chancellor, academic affairs, continuing education and university relations offices).
- Penn State basket (admissions office).
- Winter basket (student affairs/counseling/career services offices).
- Artwork (Christian Kuharik, art instructor).
- Coffee basket (advising office).
- Movie basket (library).
- Restaurant basket (PTA Club and PTA department).
- Bon Appetit (Penn State Agrcultural Extension office).
