McDonald’s Manager in Warren Wins Ray Kroc Award
WARREN, Ohio – Edward Taylor, manager of the McDonald’s restaurant at 2487 Parkman Road, has been recognized with the fast-food chain’s Ray Kroc Award.
The award recognizes the top 1%, or 141, of McDonald’s restaurant managers throughout the world, a McDonald’s spokeswoman says. Taylor learned of the recognition Monday afternoon during a break when the owner/operator of the restaurant, John Perdue, store staff and members of his family surprised him with news of his honor.
The Perdues presented him with a plaque, a check from them and a gift basket. In addition, McDonald’s will provide Taylor with an all-expenses-paid trip to Chicago where he will receive a $2,500 check, a Ray Kroc Award plaque and a lapel pin.
Taylor was chosen for his involvement and giving back to his community as well as his managerial skills, Perdue said.
“Ed’s involvement in his community is something that his friends and neighbors have come to know well,” Perdue said, noting his support of and involvement in nearby schools, athletics clubs and religious organizations.
Perdue also noted Taylor’s willingness to be a mentor to his staff and “setting his employees up for success.
The Ray Kroc Award, named after the founder of McDonald’s Corp., was established in 1999.
