Food Donations Earn Free Wings at Quaker Steak
SHARON, Pa. -- Customers of Quaker Steak & Lube who donate a nonperishable food item from July 22 through July 29 will receive a voucher for a free sprinster of six wings, the president and CEO of the restaurant chain, John Longstreet, announced Tuesday.
The vouchers can be redeemed July 29, the inaugural National Chicken Wing Day, at any of nearly 60 Quaker Steak restaurants.
“Quaker Steak & Lube’s National Chicken Wing Day promotion is a unique opportunity for us to give back to our loyal Lubies while they give back to their communities,” Longstreet said in a prepared statement.
The promotion will support local charities, he added.
Since its inception in 1974, Quaker Steak & Lube says it has sold more than one billion wings. The company, founded in 1974 and built in an abandoned gas station here, experienced significant growth in 2012 with 11 restaurant openings, a 22% increase from the previous year, and a 13% increase in systemwide revenues.
