Chamber Opens Black & White Gala to Nonprofits
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber will open its annual fundraising event, the Black & White Gala, to all of its member 501(c)(3), nonprofit organizations via a grant application process.
A selection committee will review applications from chamber members with 501(c)(3) designations and narrow those down to three finalists. The three selected organizations will have the opportunity to present more information about their proposals to the committee that will vote on a winner.
The awarded grant will be 20% of the net revenue from the Black & White Gala, which will take place Oct. 17 at Stambaugh Auditorium.
The grant can be used for funds to supporting an existing or ongoing operation, or to provide seed money or start-up funds for an innovative program. The funds can’t be used for operational expenses or staff positions, the chamber said.
The deadline for completed applications is April 17. An application is available at the chamber website in the events calendar under member resources. Members with questions are requested to call April Stanislaw, director of special events for the chamber, at 330 744 2131, ext. 21.
