Bottom Dollar Food to Open 2 More Stores
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Bottom Dollar Food will open new stores Thursday at 1756 North Road in Warren and at 1700 Wilmington Road in New Castle, Pa., bringing the discount grocer's operations to 18 stores in the greater Pittsburgh and Mahoning Valley markets.
The first 200 customers coming through the doors at the new locations will receive a free Bottom Dollar Food reusable bag filled with groceries, and additional customers will receive free reusable bags throughout the day. In conjunction with the grand openings, Bottom Dollar Food will also make $3,000 in charitable contributions to support hunger relief through the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.
“Bottom Dollar Food is proud to expand its commitment to providing unbelievable prices on fresh produce, quality meats, private brands and the national brands that matter most to our customers,” said the company’s president, Meg Ham, in a statement. “We look forward to opening our doors at the Warren and New Castle locations and continuing to offer the best prices on groceries.”
The Warren and New Castle stores will open at 8 a.m. Aug. 1 following ribbon-cutting ceremonies. Two former Pittsburgh Steelers players will greet customers and sign autographs until 9 a.m.; Louis Lipps in Warren and Robin Cole in New Castle.
Each store employs 50.
Bottom Dollar Food, based in Salisbury, N.C., operates 56 stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ohio.
