Wednesday, April 07, 2004LOS ANGELES -- The Informal Committee of Senior Secured Noteholders of Weirton Steel Corp. submitted a bid yesterday to acquire the assets of Weirton Steel Corp. The bid contains substantially the same terms and conditions as the offer previously submitted by ISG Weirton Inc. and International Steel Group.On Feb. 18, Weirton Steel announced an agreement to sell substantially all of its assets to Cleveland-based International Steel Group Inc.

The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today in Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus, features 148 research presentations from 255 students. The presentations focus on an array of diverse subjects ranging from the treatment of sex in the movies of Alfred Hitchcock to building a canoe made out of concrete.

State Department Looking for Wildlife Officers
Wednesday, April 07, 2004COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Applications are being accepted through April 23 for the next wildlife officer training school, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife. ODNR is seeking to fill at least 12 new wildlife officer positions throughout Ohio.Wildlife officers have statewide jurisdiction to enforce fish and game laws, investigate allegations of waterway pollution and serve warrants. They also conduct educational programs, advise landowners on dealing with wildlife and keep local conservation organizations updated on wildlife projects and regulations.
Ohio AG Files Suit Against Five Motor Vehicle Dealers
Wednesday, April 07, 2004COLUMBUS, Ohio -- State Attorney General Jim Petro has filed suit against five Michigan motor vehicle dealers on behalf of consumers from 23 Ohio counties covering alleged violations from advertising to selling without a license in Ohio. "Vehicle dealers should follow the laws in Ohio or we will take action on behalf of Ohioans to protect consumers," Petro says.Consumer complaints allege misrepresentations at the point of sale.
