Hagan Prods Taft to Slow Rate of Job Outsourcing
Friday, April 09, 2004COLUMBUS, Ohio -- State Sen. Robert F. Hagan (D Youngstown) has sent a letter to Ohio Gov. Bob Taft urging him to sign an executive order to prevent the outsourcing of Ohio jobs overseas. Similar executive orders have been issued by governors in Michigan and Missouri. "This letter is an effort to get Gov. Taft to take leadership on this issue," Hagan says. "Outsourcing is a critical issue for my district and for the rest of Ohio. Gov. New Foreclosure Listings Up 14% Nationwide in March
Thursday, April 08, 2004BOCA RATON, Fla. -- There were 18,012 new foreclosed residential properties listed in the United States during March, an increase of 14%, or 2,220 properties, compared to new listings in February, according to a report from Foreclosure.com.Overall, the total number of active and pending foreclosure properties in the United States rose to 62,964, 6.3% higher than in February.New foreclosures in Ohio for March total 1,087, while 653 are reported in Pennsylvania.
Intier Picks Boardman for Temporary Space
Thursday, April 08, 2004BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Intier Automotive Seating of America, Inc. is setting up shop temporarily in Boardman as work continues on its Lordstown facility.Intier, which is manufacturing seating for General Motors Corp.'s Chevrolet Cobalt automobile line to be manufactured at Lordstown, has leased 40,000 square feet of warehouse/distribution space at 525 McClurg Road in Boardman. Coldwell Banker Commercial First Place Real Estate, which handled the deal, made the announcement in a news release issued today.Intier has said that it expects to employ 205 workers at the Lordstown plant.
