Friday, April 09, 2004WASHINGTON -- With one week remaining before the April 15 deadline, taxpayers continue submit their tax returns electronically at record levels.Statistics released today by the Internal Revenue Service show that 48.5 million tax returns have been submitted through e-file so far, a pace 12% ahead of last year."To avoid last-minute tax headaches, we urge people to use e-file," said IRS Commissioner Mark W. Everson. "E-filing is the fastest, easiest way to do taxes.
Cedar Fair Completes Purchase of Six Flags Worlds of Adventure
Friday, April 09, 2004SANDUSKY, Ohio -- Cedar Fair LP. today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, located near Cleveland, from Six Flags Inc. in a cash transaction valued at approximately $145 million.The park, which opened as Six Flags Ohio in 2000 after Six Flags Inc. purchased the former Geagua Lake, will have its original name restored for its projected May 1 opening. It was named Six Flags Worlds of Adventure when the company purchased the adjacent Sea World animal park in 2001.
