COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation approved 118 safety intervention grants for Ohio employers totaling $3,499,148 in the months of September and October, the agency announced today. The grant program assists Ohio employers in reducing illnesses and injuries and establishing best practices for accident and injury prevention.
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- With electric clippers and straight razors Wednesday morning, five barbers from Excalibur Barber quickly, adeptly and gently removed the hair eight men had allowed to grow on their faces this month. And with that, this year’s “Movember” came to an end.
The eight -- Patrick Wilson, Mike Case, Brian Laraway, Dan Ricchuiti, Jon Sherman, Jonathon Fauvie, Don Koenig and Dennis LaRue -- agreed at the beginning of November to not shave parts of their faces this month in hopes of getting comments about their moustaches, goatees and extended sideburns.

AKRON, Ohio -- The Summa Health System Board of Directors announced the appointment Monday of Dr. Thomas Malone as its new president and CEO. Malone ‘s appointment takes effect Jan. 1. He replaces longtime Summa CEO Tom Strauss who is retiring at year’s end.
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Northside Medical Center is one of 42 hospitals in Ohio to be recognized as a “2013 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, an accreditor of health-care organizations in the United States.
The recognition was announced by ValleyCare Health System of Ohio, corporate parent of Northside Medical Center.
