Moving Mail Processing Could Cost Business $2.3M
Thursday, November 13, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Businesses in Mahoning and Trumbull County could lose $2.3 million in annual income, 261 good-paying jobs will be lost in the Youngstown area, and mail delivery will be delayed and more costly should the U.S. Postal Service implement its plan to close the Youngstown Mail Processing and Distribution Center in July 2015.
Regional Airport Awaits Word on Chicago Daily Route
Wednesday, November 12, 2014VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Word could come soon on whether scheduled daily air service will return to the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, its aviation director said Tuesday.
A decision by the U.S. Department of Transportation whether to update Aerodynamics Inc.’s Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity could be “perhaps a week out,” Dan Dickten said. Dickten provided an update to members of the Western Reserve Port Authority’s board of directors at a meeting of its aviation committee Tuesday afternoon.

Lordstown Land Developer Earns Strong Track Record
Tuesday, November 11, 2014LORDSTOWN, Ohio – In the spring of 2013, NorthPoint Development LLC, a commercial real estate developer in Kansas City, Mo., acquired 80 acres next to a General Motors Co. plant in nearby Fairfax, Kan., that produces the Chevrolet Malibu.
In less than two years, the land is home to 1,200 new jobs, a handful of tier-one automotive suppliers, distribution centers, and light manufacturers, and roughly 1.5 million square feet of new commercial buildings.
Industrial Park to Target GM Lordstown Suppliers
Monday, November 10, 2014LORDSTOWN, Ohio – Mayor Arno Hill expects a deal to close within the next month for a Kansas City-based developer to acquire 173 acres near the General Motors Corp. Complex for a proposed industrial park.
NorthPoint Development is finalizing the acquisition from the Revitalizing Auto Communities Environmental Response Trust, or RACER, theentity created to oversee the sale and development of properties owned by the former Gneral Motors Corp. prior to its 2009 bankruptcy.
