More Drilling Permits in Columbiana, Carroll Counties
Wednesday, March 14, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Ohio Department of Natural Resources issued seven new permits last week for Oklahoma-based Chesapeake Exploration LLC to drill new natural gas wells in Columbiana, Carroll and Portage counties.
The two permits in Washington and Hanover townships mark Chesapeake's 20th and 21st horizontal drilling permits in Columbiana, third permit in Washington Township and fifth in Hanover Township.
All three permits in Washington Township are for the Janie Trust property.
Chesapeake, Its Partners to Build $900M Midstream Service Complex
Tuesday, March 13, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Chesapeake Energy Corp. today announced that through its wholly owned subsidiary, Chesapeake Midstream Development LP, it is joining with M3 Midstream LLC and EV Energy Partners LP, both based in Houston, to build a $900 million integrated midstream service complex in Columbiana County.
The specific location of the huge complex was not announced. Sources indicate it is near the Carroll County border, around the town of Hanoverton.
Kasich Signs Order Governing Shale Gas Processing Facilities
Monday, March 12, 2012COLUMBUS, Ohio —Gov. John R. Kasich today signed Executive Order 2012-03K instituting an emergency rule giving the state's Division of Industrial Compliance exclusive jurisdiction over the construction of shale gas processing plants in Ohio. "With many companies preparing to build new, shale-related processing facilities in the very near future, this executive order will allow the work of the plans examiners and Building Code Compliance to begin immediately," the governor's office said in a statement.
