Byce Adds Brokerage to His Auction Business
Thursday, February 23, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Auctioneer Jeff Byce has obtained his brokers license and launched ByceAuction & Realty. The ByceAuction Gallery is located on Wick Avenue across from Ursuline High School.
The expansion comes, Byce says, after he earned the distinction as one of the “Top 10 Realtors in Ohio” from the Ohio Association of Realtors in 2010. He also earned the OAR President’s Sales Award the past four years while
selling under another brokerage. The accomplishments are based on dollar volume and number of units sold.
CHS Reports Revenue Gains for Quarter, 2011
Wednesday, February 22, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Community Health Systems Inc., the parent of ValleyCare Health System, posted gains in its quarterly and year-end results Tuesday, reporting net operating revenues of $3.4 billion for the final three months of 2011 and $13.6 billion for the year.
HBA Home & Garden Show Celebrates 61st Year
Wednesday, February 22, 2012BOARDMAN, Ohio -- The Home Builders and Remodelers Association of the Valley will host its 61st Annual Home & Garden Show Friday through Sunday at Mr. Anthony's here. Again this year, admission is free.
The show will be open from noon to 8 p.m. on the 24th, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the 25th and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the 26th.
School Auction Teaches Business About Bargains
Tuesday, February 21, 2012BERLIN CENTER, Ohio – School construction projects in Ohio in recent years have contributed to a growing market segment for a perhaps unexpected beneficiary – auctioneers.
George Kiko, an auctioneer with Russ Kiko Associates Inc., Canton, says his company is doing many auctions for school property including several coming up. “We’ve probably done about 10 or 12 last year for some of the different schools with the new schools being built,” he said.
Parker Plans to Close Logan Ave. Foundry
Tuesday, February 21, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Parker Hannifin Corp. announced Monday that it will close its Logan Avenue foundry over the next 15 months, idling 50 employees, according to media reports.
A company official said the plant, which manufactures metal casings, is old and no longer economically feasible. The closing isn’t expected to affect any of the company’s other operations in the area.
